Anfang 2019 war Schluss für DEATH ALLEY und BIRTH OF JOY. Die einen Proto-Metal-Punks aus Amsterdam, die anderen Orgelrock-Nerds aus Utrecht. Mehr oder weniger nahtlos riefen Musiker der beiden niederländischen Bands ein neues Projekt namens SPLINTER ins Leben. Orgelbetriebener Retro-Rock mit Seventies-Vibes. Ziemlich genau vor zwei Jahren hat die vierköpfige Band ihr Debütalbum „Filthy Pleasures“ veröffentlicht über das KADAVAR-Label Robotor Records. Jetzt kommt mit „Role Models“ über Noisolution Album Nummer zwei raus und SPLINTER drücken weiter aufs Gaspedal.

Purple Dawn!  
Das Heavy-Psych-Doom Powertrio gründete sich Ende 2019 in Köln und wurde bereits kurze Zeit später als Geheimtipp der Szene gehandelt. Der Ruf als exzellente Liveband hat das Kölner Trio Purple Dawn bereits auf Club Bühnen in der ganzen Republik und Festivals wie z.B. das Freak Valley Festival, Hoflärm Festival und das Swamp Fest Berlin gebracht. Mit der souligen und unverwechselbaren Stimme von Sänger/Bassist Patrick Rose setzt sich PD aus dem üppigen Angebot des Genres ab und erweckt die Musik von Songwriter und Gitarrist Timo Fritz zum Leben. Diese zehrt von ihrer Abwechslung und ist niemals eine Wiederholung von sich selbst. Neben dem obligatorischen Sabbath-Worship und den vielen prägnanten fuzzigen Riffs, kommt man gleichwohl in den Genuss von sphärischen Klängen und tief emotionalen Passagen. Alles wurzelt irgendwo im Classic Rock, Proto- und Heavy Metal der 70er Jahre, wobei PD auch deutliche Inspiration im Doom der letzten Jahrzehnte findet. Christian Schreiter vervollständigt die Band mit seinem energetischen und groovigen Drum Stil und ist großer Teil des massiven Sounds des Trios. Bereits mit ihrer ersten, schlicht Peace & Doom betitelten Kassette (2020, erschienen über Ogorekords), hinterließen sie einen bleibenden Eindruck. 2021 unterschrieb man bei Electric Valley Records und legte mit Peace & Doom Session Vol.II ein beeindruckendes Debütalbum hin, das die musikalischen Qualitäten der Band untermauerte und sich in den ersten 20 Wochen mehr als 500-mal verkaufte.
